Winfield
Farms LLC. operates the farm with the goal of creating a sustainable
food source for local residents, both on the farm and those living
locally. We are one of only four designated farms in Fairfax, Virginia
thriving in an Urban area. We practice full cycle and sustainable
agriculture, using all waste for composting, well water is used, along
with captured rain water. We use primarily non GMO grains for feed and
are looking forward to incorporating permaculture in areas of the farm
that have adequete sunlight.
It is our intention and mission to use all of our resources to give back to the community in which we live.
Description
Winfield
Farms produces all of our meats, poultry and produce using organic
methods in a sustainable agricultural environment. Our barns are full of
quail, fields have free roaming chickens, vegetables in the garden.
We are currently producing five different micro-green varieties, seven
different types of specialty mushrooms in a natural wooded environment,
and are in the process of constructing a greenhouse for year-round
vegetable and herb production. Previously and again soon to come are
grass-fed beef and heritage pork.
